Young Cairo

A few months back my mate Andrew Guirguis aka Andrawis George came to me with a brief. He wanted to brand his new solo music project Young Cairo starting from the photographs. As a protean man of music, design and art, I knew this one would be a fun one- he would know exactly what he wanted, and the challenge would be to match his expectations. Here is the result below.

The idea was to create a multi-faceted character ‘Young Cairo,’ tapping into Guirg’s Egyptian heritage. A pop-up show was held last week in Darlinghurst, featuring the artworks, graphics, video clip and a live-performance. My favourite part was the badges he had made up with my photos on them. I’ve got all 5.

Guirgs is off to NY next week. I am glad we got to do this before he left.

WOW. I just wanted to say that I have just discovered you and I have fallen in love with all your work…..it’s so lovely 😀 I’ve been in a bit of a photographic rut recently, but your work is pumping me full of inspiration for shoots! Thank you so much! You’re amazing! (Loving the pastels by the way. loving them.) Gx
